Quantification of SARS-CoV-2 by Precision Metagenomics

The Respiratory Pathogen ID/AMR Panel (RPIP)* allows detection, quantification, and classification of SARS-CoV-2. RPIP-based and qPCR-based VLs were strongly correlated across a wide range of SARS-CoV-2 loads. The use of the MS2 phage as an internal calibrator and an automated data analysis provides accurate quantification of SARS-CoV-2. The same method can be used for >280 other pathogens targeted by RPIP without the need for standard curves.

Combining pathogen detection, classification, AMR identification, and pathogen quantification with one unified and automatable workflow allows laboratories to further consolidate metagenomics-based testing since a comprehensive report is generated from a single RPIP test.
